📰 News: Wholesale Pricing & Consumer Sentiment
Here’s a snapshot of August’s automotive data:
- Used-vehicle prices (adjusted) dipped slightly due to seasonal effects, but non-adjusted prices rose 0.6% vs. July and are up 1.3% YoY.
- Retail supply is tightening, hitting its lowest level since April, keeping buyers active at auctions.
- EV demand continues to grow, with pricing up 4.2% YoY vs. just 0.9% for non-EVs.
- Luxury vehicles led segment growth, while compact cars saw the biggest YoY price drop at -3.8%.
- Consumer sentiment declined, with inflation concerns and auto affordability impacting buyer outlook.
